Hello dreamers. I've been away for sooo long, I forgot about this blogsite. Been so busy writing in my spare time, I barely look up from the keyboard. But it's time for GUTGAA. What's that you ask? Gearing up to get an agent. Yay!

Deana Barnhart

On with the meet and greet question portion. drum roll puleaseeeee.

Where do you write? I write at my desk in my living room. I work at home, so the minute my day is over, it's just beginning. I shove my monitor back and bring out my laptop. Needless to say, I have no life.

Quick. Go to your writing space, sit down and look to your left. What is the first thing you see?  Cobwebs.

Favorite time to write? Late at night.

Drink of choice while writing? Dunkin' donuts coffee and brisk iced tea. What can I say, I'm a hot and cold drinker.

When writing, do you listen to music or do you need complete silence? Complete and utter silence. But I need to smell my characters. Depends on who I am writing, today for example, I'm wearing Luke. He's my vanilla guy. Sapphire blue eyes, sultry voice and shaggy brown hair.

What was your inspiration for your latest manuscript and where did you find it? I've always loved fairytales. And now that I'm a grandmother, I've been revisiting them like old friends.

What's your most valuable writing tip? Backstory. Know your characters well. It will make their voice and actions real. If you know where they come from it will drive the story. Also, don't force the story, let it take you where it wants to go. You can always change it.

Hello Dreamers!

Welcome to my blog. My first try at putting out something to the masses. Not exactly sure what it is I'm supposed to say, so I'll jump right on in to the nitty-gritty. I'm a writer and these are my midnight musings.

I've always loved fairy tales. Even now, flipping through the channels, if an animated movie or a teen romance resembling a bad Hilary Duff imitation comes on, I'll curl up with a bag of microwave popcorn and settle in for ninety minutes. To me, that's time well spent. Considering most adult movies lately seemed to have been directed by...well I don't want to point fingers. But I'm sure there are few monkeys out there that could've done better. No offense, but give me a Chevy Chase movie any day.

The whole point I am driving at, is I write Young Adult fantasy romance. And someday, you'll be reading it, hopefully sooner than later.
